The Woodruff P.E. Center (WPEC) offers membership to all eligible faculty and staff employed by Emory University and Emory Healthcare, Oxford College of Emory University, Wesley Woods, Emory alumni/ae and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Current fees are listed below.  Dependents, same sex domestic partners registered with the University and spouses of the above employees or alumni/ae are also eligible to join the WPEC.  Please note:  the office does not accept cash.  We happily accept debit cards, checks and credit cards (Visa, MC and Discover).

Refunds for facility membership will be given up to two weeks after purchase. There is a $15.00 processing fee. No refunds will be granted if employment is terminated, or if member is leaving Emory.

Annual membership:  Members who wish to pay for the full year up front with check or credit (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) may visit the office during office hours to complete the application process and make their payment.  These memberships are valid for one year from the date of purchase.  If you would like to use a credit card online, please follow this link. Payroll deduction: Emory University and Emory Healthcare employees may also choose the option of payroll deduction as their method of payment. Initiate the process by visiting the Member Services Office located in the Recration and Wellness Suite on second level of the WPEC. You will pay the first two months up front with a check or major credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover); $18.00 deductions will come out of your monthly wages each month thereafter until you choose to cancel. 

Payroll cancelation requests must be made in writing, with 30 days' notice.  You may fill out a form at the Member Services office or email  Please include your name, employee ID number and the date you would like the cancellation to take effect.  Office staff cannot accept cancellation requests over the phone.

Spouses, Same-Sex Domestic Partners, Dependents, and Plus Ones

Spouses of students, faculty, and staff are eligible for membership. Each must present photo identification with the same last name as the employee. If last names are different, other verification may be asked to be presented such as a marriage certificate, tax forms, etc. Same-sex Domestic Partners registered with the University are eligible.

Dependents under 26 years of age living in the same household and financially dependent on employee are eligible for membership.

  • Dependents must be accompanied by the parent or guardian when signing up for membership.
  • Dependents under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult WPEC member at all times while in the Woodruff PE Center.  An adult is defined as a person who is 18 years of age or older.
  • All dependents over the age of sixteen must have a valid EmoryCard for admittance.
  • Children under 14 are not allowed in the weight area under any circumstances and must be accompanied by an adult at all times in other parts of the Center. The Center is not designed as, and must not be used as, a daycare provider.
  • Members will be notified via email instructions on how to procure an EmoryCard for their dependent. 

Plus Ones are a secondary designee that the primary member can add to their account that aren't a spouse/partner or dedpendent. 


Graduates of Emory University and Oxford College are eligible for membership. Alumni spouses, plus one, and dependent children are eligible at the same rate as the affiliated alumna/alumnus. Each member is required to sign a waiver. 


Administrators/managers of Bon Appetit, Barnes and Nobel Bookstore, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Wesley Woods, Crawford Long, Emory Mail and Copy Services (IKON) are eligible for membership. Affiliate spouses, plus one, and dependents are not eligible. 

Locker Rentals

Rental lockers may be purchased by faculty, staff, students and alumni.  Lockers may be rented by the semester for $25 or for a year by purchasing 3 semesters for $60. Renters are responsible for cleaning out locker contents by the end of their rental agreement period. If renters fail to empty their lockers after receiving notice to do so by the appointed date, their items will be removed and donated to charity.   Emory University is not responsible for personal items, including items stored in lockers. Keys for daily-use lockers can be obtained in the Equipment Room.  These lockers are free, available just for the day and located on the first floor.


Clean towels may be obtained from the Equipment Room by using the prox on your EmoryCard.
